YOU Can...

Our world is a balance of good and bad. Some are lucky and some are less fortunate. Some are living luxuriously while some are not. This is the reality of our world. But one thing is good in our world is that everyone can share their luck and blessings to the people.

You, a more fortunate being in this world has the potential to be the "help" that everyone seeks. You can be everyone's wall from difficulties. You can be the light to guide individuals to the right track. You can be the friend of all people.

You, as a person can make a difference in someone's life. You have the power to help a society with your heart and mind. No matter what is the situation, you can be a friend, a leader and a citizen of the country. Helping whole heartedly is always rewarded. All blessing you give will come back at you 10x greater.

You, an ordinary citizen of a country can make a difference.

Hidden Villain

People always blame the government for the poverty they experience in this country, what they don't know is that half of the fault falls on them.  Why is it in America, food is abundant where everyone even the poor can eat, whereas in the Philippines it doesn't happen that way.  People says that it is because of the corruption happening in the government. They say it is the number one cause of poverty in the country. Yes it can be true but one thing they forgot to include is that the citizens are also at fault.

I recently realized that we are really overpopulated in this country.  We are not as big as China but we can see that our population will fit China if it is possible to trade countries. "Poor" people will say how pitiful they are but when you asked them how many children do they have they would probably reply six, eight, ten or twelve maybe.  Another thing that should be realize by the citizens of this country is that overpopulation did not only bring poverty but also unemployment. Because of this, crimes increase just to earn money and when you asked the culprit, they will simply say that they are sorry and that they need the money so much to feed his family or whatever.

Again, people may blame the government for overpopulation, but if we will be more critical on this situation, the government has no power to stop the natural "urges" of the people.  They even promoted the reproductive health bill but still some people won't use it. Although many would still still deny this fact, the hidden villain in our country that cause crisis here is overpopulation.

A True Filipino Citizen

What it is to be a true Filipino Citizen? Do you have to die like Jose Rizal to save the country? Or do you have to fight like Andress Bonifacio against the differences of the country? Well for me, to be a citizen, it does not have to be so heroic.

We can be a citizen of the country by simply showing some concern for the country. Of course, we also have to act in order to correct or solve the problems of the country. I'm not talking about the big issues here like, poverty, corruption and such things. What I'm saying is that we can be a true citizen by simply helping in our own small ways. As I said before, showing some concern is being a citizen. Speaking as a student, we can start by making improvements in our area like giving suggestions to the authority about anything that will benefit many people. Like infrastructure problems in our baranggay. Cemented roads are helpful not only for smoother travel but also in minimizing muds and flood.

These things I mentioned was only an example of how we can be a true citizen. I also pointed out that even as a student we can make small differences for the better of our country. In conclusion, to be a true citizen of our country is not hard, by simply showing concern and determination to solve small problems of the country is already being a citizen.
